"Discipline your children, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to their death."
— Proverbs 19:18
Discipline is a "safety process" to guarantee perfect order during the transfer of knowledge, experience and skills from a human to another human who has divine gifts and talents, that are not developed yet, to develop them for the Glory of God on earth. We are talented and gifted since we are born. When our parents can detect them early, the development of those talents and gift are the measure of our prosperity, if we use them to serve others and make them feel comfortable.
God orders today that we discipline our children. God himself says: "For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves, And He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart]." (Hebrews 12:6). If you don't discipline your kids, someone you don't like or even know will do it anyway because discipline for the Soul is mandatory to live as oxygen, glucose, protein and fat are for the body. Proverbs 5:23 reminds us: "For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly."
Hebrews 12:11 is the key: Lead with love. When we discipline our children with love and wisdom, we create a foundation for them to flourish in their God-given purpose and become vessels of His glory on earth.
